Indian Art Series: Vasudeva takes the Infant Krishna across the Yamuna River

The Bhagavata Purana series from the workshop of painters in the principality of Mankot Master is one breathtakingly bold and passionate series among all other remarkable ones. The artist approaches the text with the deepest reverence and conviction.

Here, the newborn Krishna is being taken to safety by his father, Vasudeva, across the river and exchange him a newborn girl, the goddess in another form as divinely ordained.
