Inspired by the carvings of Lakshmana temple of Khajuraho, the painting captures a woman applying vermilion on her head. Spliced with her husband through this vermilion the complacent woman seems glowing with pride at the absoluteness of her personality. The stimulating felicity of her face impels the artist to recreate it on paper.
