Often we connect with people who are from altogether different walks of life and we enjoy their conversation. Many of us share the same relationship with few street vendors that we often buy from. We get happy with their joys, empathize with their sorrows and carry their emotions with us. This painting captures the same conversation between two women, buyer & seller engrossed in a conversation.
Different, non- idealized faces gives a feeling of realism. It is clear that the lady in the left, with her fingers spread, elbow bent and her lips a bit part, is the one who is talking and the lady in the left, with her lips pressed and hands down, is listening.
