Our society gives a hard time to those who belong to the weaker section of the society, whether financially or emotionally. Nikhil’s painting portrays the story of a common woman who has lost her husband and raises her child on her own. The struggles that the woman faces and the way she sacrifices her own needs over the wishes of her child is something Nikhil learnt from his mother.
The dark skin of the mother in painting portrays the problem the woman faces while upbringing her child providing him all the facilities he requires and the skin tone of the child suggests that she is succeeding in her goals. Nikhil is a student of Bachelor of Fine Arts at Banaras Hindu University and wants to support such women in whatever ways possible.
